Hi! I’m Suzy and welcome to Soulshine Rhythm Experience. Thank you for visiting and exploring how rhythm can help you relax, connect, re-energize and HEAL.

As a trained Drum & Rhythm Facilitator, I utilize the drum as tool for communication and personal expression, two very important elements in achieving mind/body integration and overall wellness.

HealthRhythms, a fun, evidence-based  program, specifically, incorporates a whole person strategy that promotes socialization and ensures a healthy non-strenuous workout for all participants. On a deeper level it builds bridges while fostering nurturing, support, camaraderie, self-respect and respect for others.

In my journey as a drummer and teacher, I have experienced firsthand, the remarkable healing power of rhythm.   Through these learnings it became clear that my purpose is to unite, empower and inspire people of all kinds through the universal language of rhythm. Young or old, healthy or ailing, joining together in rhythm offers tremendous therapeutic benefits all while having lots of FUN!

Why Drumming?

Research supports the therapeutic benefits of drumming

Feel empowered


Drumming inspires creativity and expression helping to release trauma and boost a strong sense of self. When held, negative emotions can form energy blockages. The physical stimulation of hitting the drums can help remove those blockages and stimulate creative expression.

Drumming releases endorphins, enkephalins and Alpha waves in the brain, which are associated with general feelings of well-being and euphoria. Drumming puts you in the present moment, moving your awareness toward flowing with the rhythm of life. Being present helps release worry and anxiety.

Drumming stimulates creative expression and when you drum in a group, you also get feedback from the other drummers. This ‘conversation’ fosters bonding while it provides a way to explore your inner self, and expanding your consciousness while being part of a community.




The value of a team empowered by mutual respect, productive communication and lower stress cannot be underestimated. HealthRHYTHMS evidence based protocol is a tool which can be used for team empowerment. The drum allows this process to be a fun and rewarding experience which research has shown can have positive biological as well as psycho-social benefit.



Based on studies by Barry Bittman, MD, neurologist and President of the Yamaha Music & Wellness Institute, it has been shown that group drumming drumming can help boost the immune system by increases natural T-cells, the white blood cells that help the body combat cancer as well as other viruses.
